Overview
Join us for the NIBA Vic "It's Okay, Not to Be Okay" Breakfast Seminar. In recognition of R U OK? Day, the NIBA Vic Committee is proud to host a seminar by mental health charity "Walk With Me''.
Walk With Me was an idea of former AFL player, MVP and dual premiership player, Corey McKernan, at the height of Australia's Covid-19 lockdown in May 2020. After reading an article detailing concerns about people's mental health with restricted living, Corey wondered how he could help. This idea inspired and shaped the Not for Profit 'Walk With Me' organisation that today aims to give back to the community through training workshops and ongoing support programs led by elite athletes.
In this Breakfast Seminar, hear Corey's story as he takes you through the challenges he faced as an injured athlete and his recovery journey that impacted his wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Corey will then cover a range of topics, including stress management, mindfulness practices, coping strategies, and self-care techniques.
By fostering a supportive community and providing accessible resources, we can empower individuals to prioritize their mental health and thrive. Together, let us embark on this journey towards emotional well-being and resilience.
